My husband and I were raised in Catholic families in Colombia, and from an early age our parents taught us the fundamental moral principles of the Catholic religion. But on April of 1989, when we were born again, we began to understand the true meaning of being a Christian and since then our relationship with God has become more personal. Since then we began to write. José Joaquin wrote reflections about the love of God and messages of hope for humanity, and I wrote wise advice for all families everywhere.

TO A WOMAN

“Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, and do not despise the direction of your mother; for they will be an ornament of grace to your head, and necklaces to your neck.”  Proverbs 1: 8-9
Hello family and friends. Today I want to tell you that every year I have told you many beautiful things about mothers, but this time I just want to share a poem written by a Chilean bishop. It is so beautiful and true that I have had it for more than thirty years and every time I read it I cry just like the one who wrote it. I hope this poem be a blessing also for you all.
"There is a woman who has something of God for the immensity of her love and much of an angel for the tireless request of her care. A woman who being young has the reflection of an old woman and in old age works with the vigor of youth. A woman who, if she is ignorant, solves the secrets of life with more success than a wise man and if she is educated, she accommodates herself to the simplicity of children. A woman who, being poor, is satisfied with the happiness of those she loves and being rich would gladly give her treasures so she has not to suffer in her heart the wound of ingratitude. A woman who being vigorous, she shudders with the lament of a child and being weak, sometimes she dresses with lion bravery. A woman who, while she lives, we do not know how to esteem her because the pains are forgotten, but after she pass away, we would give everything we are and possess to look at her again for a single moment, to receive a single hug from her, and to listen to a just accent her lips. Don't ask this woman's name if you don't want me to soak this paper with tears because I saw her pass by on my way. When your children grow up read this page to them, so they covering your forehead with kisses will tell you that a humble traveler has left here for you and for them a sketch of the portrait of their mother." (Ramón Ángel Jara).
I also want to remind you that having a mother alive is having a blanket for the cold, an umbrella for the rain, bread for hunger and comfort for our sorrows. If you have her, appreciate her, do not make her suffer. May God bless every mother!
No one is as real and sincere as your mom. She tells you things for your good and then she alone prays for you. Do not take her advice as just annoying words because it comes from God. Also, when she gets older don't ignore her, don't humiliate her, and don't look down on her (Proverbs 23:22) if you really want to have a blessing on your home.
!!HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
With love,
