My husband and I were raised in Catholic families in Colombia, and from an early age our parents taught us the fundamental moral principles of the Catholic religion. But on April of 1989, when we were born again, we began to understand the true meaning of being a Christian and since then our relationship with God has become more personal. Since then we began to write. José Joaquin wrote reflections about the love of God and messages of hope for humanity, and I wrote wise advice for all families everywhere.

ETERNAL TRUTHS

Let us consider the following situation: That for you friend or brother and also for me, in a hundred thousand million centuries, we will exist in Heaven or hell. Let's not tell each other lies. We will be in the place we have chosen during life and we all have to face this situation; whether we like it or not like it, this is how our true owner, the Lord, arranged it. Let us go to the heights that lead our thoughts in a field of tenderness emanating from the heart. We would not stay on earth because we belong to the Lord and to no one else. The silence of life leads us to depths and we soak in the eternal from before we got there. The time that passes we feel with tenderness because they are steps that we take towards an endless life. And it is something very serious because we cannot be wrong, but when we are wrong, let us correct ourselves soon because what follows is the passage to eternity. I speak for you anonymous friend. Let's go to the Lord because there is no other way that is better.
Friend, if you read this message, be encouraged as I have encouraged myself because we have to increase the army of souls which are going to God. Not a step back, since the Lord gave us that right and we cannot lose it as the only and great happiness in the hereafter.
Cordially,
José Joaquín Agudelo G.

PRAYER

"And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive it." Matthew 21:22

Hello family and friends. Did you know that prayer is not repeating some nice phrases that someone else wrote? Rather, it is a conversation with God that comes from the heart and soul. We all depend on prayer. God can do what He wants, but He has proposed to work with us Christians through prayer, since great things can happen with it. Jesus said that if you have faith like a mustard seed you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). What we ask God can be obtained according to the faith we have and what is essential is not a long prayer, but the degree of faith with which we pray. When truly believed, prayer is heard by God. On one occasion God said that very bad things were happening in Israel because there was no one who made an effort to invoke Him (Isaiah 64: 7). Sometimes the Lord lets everything depend on the way we ask Him through prayer, and if we half-invoke Him we half-receive the answer. He also said that if you will seek me and find me, it is because you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).
When we make up our minds to pray more and cry out more in the name of Jesus Christ, we immediately see the results, as the Holy Spirit is put into action and great things begin to happen. Be clear that He always responds when we strive to call on Him wholeheartedly. Your answer may be: "Yes", "No", "Wait." Jesus never fails and He cares about your life so pray and ask for strength for each day and if things do not go as we expect, do not worry because they are going as God wants. My husband said: "God always listens to humble prayer."
Prayer is not only talking or asking God, it is also listening to the Lord because otherwise it would be just a monologue. Prayer brings healing, relationship with God, peace, progress, and blessing. Prayer is a sign that we are children of God and that we have been born again.
Did you know that to pray or talk with God we don't need intermediaries such as angels, archangels, secretaries, assistants, saints, or any idol? Prayer is a private appointment with our Creator, and best of all, He himself is in charge of giving it to us any time we are willing to speak to Him with all our hearts.
As a song says, “Sweet prayer to God which give encouragement and joy to the soul in this land of affliction, consolation you will always be to us until the moment when we will see Christ in his mansion.” While we are on Earth, we should go to God in prayer and pour out our hearts to Him while we go to his mansion.
Don't forget that when you pray, God listens to you. When you listen, God speaks to you. When He speaks to you, you believe. And when you believe God works in your life. It is worth believing to obey. Our greatest need is not to obtain something better than what we have, but to become someone better than we are, so remember that the presence of God is a remedy for the soul. Look for God more often!
With love,
Maria Fanny Agudelo

THE ONLY FOUNDATION OF OUR LIFE

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is JESUS CHRIST (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Years of our existence on this Earth have passed and we have all had different experiences, sometimes pleasant and other times unpleasant. The most important experience for me was when JESUS CHRIST intercepted me on my way, transformed me, and saved me. From that moment on I voluntarily decided to put Him as the foundation of my life. Best of all, I know that many have already had this wonderful encounter with JESUS. But the Christian life does not stop there; on the contrary that is just the beginning. From that experience, each one of us began to build with different materials such as gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, leaf litter, etc. But each one's work will become manifest because the day will declare it, because by fire it will be revealed. And the work of each one, fire will prove it (1 Corinthians 3: 12-13). The fire of proof will always be testing what we are building in our lives. For example, the pandemic crisis that we are experiencing at this time is a test for everyone in different measures and circumstances. With it the Lord is testing the quality of material that we have been using.
I want to tell you how the Lord has been testing me at this time. The month of May was a difficult time for all of us as a family. I am going to list some facts in general:
1) In the first week of May my mother was hospitalized.
2) In the second week my son had an accident on his ripstik.
3) In the third week my husband had an intestinal infection that took him to bed and for a week he was not available to work.
4) In the fourth week it was my turn. I started to feel bad from Memorial Day weekend. All week I had a fever, cough, headache, and weakness. I hoped to be well in a week and start the month of June recovering, but it was not. On May 29 I took the Covid test and on June 2 my doctor was giving me the results: Positive and bronchitis in my lungs. That was terrible!
Through this entire difficult situation, I remembered the lessons that Pastor Lorri was teaching us during the months of March and April about the trials in the book of James in the Bible and the trials in the series of the book Unscripted by Ernie Johnson Jr. Really these studies and the prayers of the Church helped me not to pass out. "If the work of one who builds remains, he will receive a reward" (1 Corinthians 3:14). I wanted the reward and I am sure that you all also when it is your turn to pass the test. Nobody wants to suffer loss or that the work is burned.
But God is always God of new opportunities. If someone's work was made of wood, hay, or stubble, obviously the trial by fire will consume it no matter how beautiful and stable it has looked. Here it is important to note that it is worth re-building because the foundation remains the same: JESUS CHRIST, the main cornerstone, the only stable Foundation Rock. This is immovable and is not consumed. The question now would be: What materials will be used to build this time? Each stage of life in which trials come, is either an opportunity to be confirmed by God and receive reward, or it is an opportunity to start building a new life in repentance, with new materials, with a new perspective, and with a new experience to glorify God!
