My husband and I were raised in Catholic families in Colombia, and from an early age our parents taught us the fundamental moral principles of the Catholic religion. But on April of 1989, when we were born again, we began to understand the true meaning of being a Christian and since then our relationship with God has become more personal. Since then we began to write. José Joaquin wrote reflections about the love of God and messages of hope for humanity, and I wrote wise advice for all families everywhere.

BEAUTIFUL HISTORY

And they put their written cause on his head: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Matthew 27:37

Hello family and friends. I tell you that I found in my archive this story so beautiful and true that I would like to share it for this Easter 2021. Remember that last year 2020 due to the pandemic we could not celebrate Easter as has been the custom. I would like the will of God for this year 2021 to be different. But if not, what God does is the best, because He always wants the best for His children.

Many years ago an artist named Stenburg lived in the ancient city of Dusseldorf; although he was religious, he knew little or nothing about Jesus Christ and the reason why he was born in Bethlehem a little over two thousand years ago. He also did not think much about the salvation of his soul, but he did occupy himself with painting a large picture of the crucifixion of Christ. He did not care about money or fame, but rather liked the subject very much. The goodness and mercy of God led him to know the wonderful love of the Savior as a result of his own artistic work. On a beautiful spring morning Stenburg was looking to recreate himself in the woods near his city; suddenly he found himself a beautiful girl, intelligent and young. That is how the painter negotiated with her to come three days a week to pose as a model in his studio. At the appointed time Pepita arrived and her big eyes began to look at the paintings, and the largest was a scene of the crucifixion of Jesus. This painting was the one that attracted the most attention to the young woman, being
astonished and began to ask him about the meaning of this painting. Stenburg just answered dryly. Is he the Christ? The young woman asked. She also asked if he had been a very bad man. He replied that he had been a good man. Pepita continued: what are they doing with him? They are crucifying him, replied the artist. Who are these hard-hearted ones? The upset artist told her not to ask any more. But seeing the anxiety of the girl to know the story, he decided to tell her everything about the cross. Pepita's eyes filled with tears and she couldn't control her deep emotion.

The last visit from the young woman had arrived. The teacher handed her his money and she took one last look at the painting and said: how much you must love him since he has done everything for you, right? Stenburg couldn't answer. The young woman returned home, but her words penetrated the master's heart. "Everything for you" sounded constant in his ears. He knew that he did not love the crucified Savior and that he lived depressed, until one day by the grace of the Lord he came to know the truth of the blessed Gospel and knew what true conversion to Christ was. It was at this time that Stenburg wanted to spread the gospel to the whole world by using his artist brush. His painting, the product of a sincere

Christianity, was placed in the famous museum in Dusseldorf, below it were placed these words: I did all this for you, what have you done for me? Many people admire the famous painting of the crucifixion. Years later Count Zinzendorf, a German nobleman who was converted by Stenburg's testimony and the poetic legend at the bottom of the painting, his life was used in a wonderful way for the cause of Christ.

You, reader friend, have you seen Jesus Christ crucified hanging between heaven and earth, suffering God's punishment for your sins? It is true, He died for your sins, but you have to repent of them and accept Him as your personal Savior. Open your heart to him and allow him to give you the forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and a life to enjoy with your family on this earth.

HAPPY AND BLESSED EASTER WEEK 2021!

With love,

Maria Fanny Agudelo
