My husband and I were raised in Catholic families in Colombia, and from an early age our parents taught us the fundamental moral principles of the Catholic religion. But on April of 1989, when we were born again, we began to understand the true meaning of being a Christian and since then our relationship with God has become more personal. Since then we began to write. José Joaquin wrote reflections about the love of God and messages of hope for humanity, and I wrote wise advice for all families everywhere.

NEW YEAR 2021

Hello family and friends. If you think like most people, you will start the New Year with good intentions and resolutions that will later be discarded in a few days. Therefore if you fall back on the same beaten path of bad habits it will not be a new year but a repeated old year. The only way to have a truly new year is by recognizing the true reason for bad habits and sins and repenting.

Deep down, we have all been rebellious against God and have rejected his plan for our lives. It is impossible to live to our full capacity while we are separated from the source of all life. Jesus came into the world to free us from the slavery of sin, so if we give ourselves to God, He saves us and gives us new life. The apostle Paul says in Corinthians 5:17: "If

anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, and behold all have become new." Repent with sincerity and accept Christ as your Savior, then you will be in a position to enjoy a truly new life. Think about it: Without question, most of the machines and gadgets in your home underwent rigorous testing before they went on sale. Do you think of yourself as the perfect product? Or as a complicated being that is in the process of perfection? Let's not forget that we are all in that process and therefore we have to go through some tests. These tests do not exist simply so that we suffer, but so that we realize our weaknesses and have a chance to correct mistakes and repent. God is not glad of our pain, but there are some lessons that are not learned otherwise. In the New Testament in Hebrews 12:11 God teaches us: In truth we like no discipline because it hurts, but after learning the lesson the result is an upright life and peace. He also says that we should feel happy when we go through some test because that is how we learn to be patient (1 Peter 4: 12-13).

Our character is shown, not in prosperity, but in the face of trouble. God allows trials so that we can see our mistakes and take steps to correct them. The year 2020 was difficult for everyone, but not everyone took advantage of this difficult test of the coronavirus pandemic to correct themselves, repent, polish, grow, and glorify God.

So as we can see, when we say happy New Year we do not necessarily want freedom from all kinds of problems, because the happy person is one who is always learning and growing. It is the one that is being polished by the Holy Spirit and is glorifying the Lord JESUS in all circumstances.

!!Happy new year to all!!!

With love,

Maria Fanny Agudelo
