My husband and I were raised in Catholic families in Colombia, and from an early age our parents taught us the fundamental moral principles of the Catholic religion. But on April of 1989, when we were born again, we began to understand the true meaning of being a Christian and since then our relationship with God has become more personal. Since then we began to write. José Joaquin wrote reflections about the love of God and messages of hope for humanity, and I wrote wise advice for all families everywhere.

CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED

 Christians are called. Called to what? We are called to rectification, receiving Jesus Christ as God incarnate, risen, and Savior. This verification must be done daily. It is also necessary to receive his gospel as a standard of life to produce a lifestyle of holiness. Each Christian is responsible, along with the Holy Spirit, for the conversion of human beings, leading them toward the unique path that leads to the Kingdom of peace and justice. Jesus Christ is the only one who can restore humanity to its true dimension. It is a pity that not all Christians evangelize, because we want to live the faith adapted to our own needs, with the excuse of a lack of word and vocation. Let us keep in mind that today, more than ever, there are a very large number of people who live and die daily in ignorance of God and the purpose for which they were created. It is urgent that all Christians help to rescue lost humanity. While any good form of evangelization can be valid, let us consider the most effective way to transmit the gospel of God from person to person, since it is much more feasible to reach the individual conscience and thus retain the influence of the message received. Furthermore, we need our own testimony of holiness, since if the word of God is contradicted by personal conduct, it will never be accepted. Face-to-face, one-on-one approach characterized Jesus' style. This is evidenced by his conversations with Nicodemus, Zacchaeus, the Samaritan woman, Mary, Martha, Lazarus, and the apostles themselves. In any way we evangelize, we must consider the importance of word and life testimony. Do not forget that Christianity is not religion, but a relationship with God and a way of life. Spiritual progress is not measured by achievements, but by obstacles overcome. Holiness is not a matter of appearance; it is a matter of a heart devoted to the Lord. Salvation is infinitely costly, but at the same time absolutely free. Remember that the source of insecurity is a lack of intimacy with God, but the source of trust is communion with Him. The Christian life is not only about going to church on Sundays; it is also reflected in a lifestyle of serving God and our fellow human beings. Don't forget that in the darkness, Jesus Christ is your light; in the storm, He is your peace; in sadness, He is your strength; and in loneliness, He is your companion.
